Interview with the band Corner House

As you probably know, Peaks Island Radio is working with the Tiny Porch Concert Series and New Brackett Church to make excellent, live music available to Peaks Islanders. This week, April 8th at 7pm, the Long Winter’s Night Concert Series features Corner House.

Two members of the band, Ethan Setiawan and Louise Bichan, joined me to talk about what to expect ahead of their performance. A folky, rootsy, eclectic trad band formed in their days at Berklee College of Music in Boston, they’re now based in Southern Maine. Louise and Ethan, along with fellow bandmates Ethan Hawkins and Casey Murray, will play a diverse set of Celtic, Bluegrass, Old-Timey inspired music along with tunes from their upcoming album, How Beautiful It’s Been, available for pre-order on Bandcamp. Click this link to check out their Bandcamp page and pre-order.

In this interview, you’ll hear what brought these four musicians together, what to expect at the concert on Peaks, and how a new generation of musicians is finding creative ways to fund their art without a label.

Thank you for listening in on this conversation. I hope you’ll be able to make it to the Corner House Band performance at New Brackett Church on April 8th at 7pm!
